Not fit for the jurassic park name - Jurassic Park III Reviews
Now, I'm not going to say I didn't like this movie because it was bad, after all, I've enjoyed plenty of bad movies in my time, but what really seems unappealing to me about this film was that it simply didn't work, all the while milking a great first movie and an okay second. Jurassic Park III was just disappointing to me, as visually it took a completely different direction than the first two. I understand there was a different director, but when working within a series you should try to stick to what's working, not inject your own "good" ideas.
From the moment the film began, with flashy a flashy title and obnoxious "Isla Sorna" quickly slashed by "RESTRICTED", I could tell that the actual style and beauty of the Spielberg-directed films beforehand had been abandoned in favor of a flashy, pull-in-the-12-year-old-boys action/monster film. And the film continued in this vein from there on. The acting was mediocre at best, the directing seemed rushed and scrambled, and the visual effects, while well done, were not nearly enough to carry an entire film, as CGI effects could back closer to their introduction 10 years beforehand.
Overall, the film was a great disappointment, and I personally wouldn't count it as part of the Jurassic Park series in my home collection.
